Path to Abolition in Virginia

On April 12th, Missourians for Alternative to the Death Penalty (MADP) hosted Michael Stone, Executive Director of Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (VADP) and Dale Brumfield, Field Director for VADP for a discussion and Q&A about the path to full repeal or abolition of the death penalty in Virginia. On March 14th, Virginia became the 23rd state, and the first southern state to abolish the death penalty.

We send a special thanks to Michael Stone and Dale Brumfield for their insight, encouragement, and steadfastness in the movement. If you were unable to attend our Advocacy Week Kick Off event with members of Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, please watch back the video below where we learned about the process toward abolition in Virginia, with discussions on strategy and more toward the end.
